Thanks for the intro, Framed!
To Framed's fans and supporters – Welcome to Covalence.
Maybe you've already heard about us from J1mmy, or maybe you're fresh off Tutorial Island and you have no clue where you are or what to do next – either way, that's okay! We're big RuneScape and Framed fans, too, and we're kinda like the Lumbridge Guide for software developers: we can provide crucial information to newbies, and even when you think you don't need us anymore, we're always there ready to help.
Here's Framed with your next steps:
Sometimes it feels like the pure rush of dread mixed with the bolt of adrenaline you experience when you realize you've just been lured past the Wilderness ditch, frozen with an ice barrage, and spec'd out because you thought it was your lucky day seeing that pile of 10,001 gp lying on the ground at the edge of the minimap.
Don't be that guy or gal (again). You're smarter, wiser, older now.
You've got the gear. You learned to 3-way switch, prayer-flick, and tick-eat. You can even kill Jad now. Your middle school aspirations are your adulthood realities, but...
IRL, you're still looking for that rush of dopamine from your career.
Your day job might as well be for Burt shoveling sand.
If you're going to spend your life doing something, you should enjoy the time you spend doing it.
You've always wondered if there was something more behind your interest in tech...
Spoiler alert: there is, and we can help you achieve it.
We're the best-in-slot tool belt for software developers – no matter if you're a novice or seasoned vet.
Join us in the Covalence Community, and use code FRAMED to get your first month free.
We give you the tool belt, tools, and teach you how to use them.

Meet the Team
At Covalence, you're not supporting Mega Corp Inc. or an Ivy League institution with a ludicrous endowment. You're supporting a small business whose success depends on yours, and that makes all the difference.
Still skeptical?
Don't take our word for it. Take theirs:
Starting Covalence was something I was nervous about at first. I had no coding experience whatsoever before Covalence and was somewhat blindly jumping in. The pre-work had me hooked from the beginning. Tic tac toe was a huge challenge early on, but learning how to find solutions and think critically really gave me a rewarding feeling. After that, things with the program got harder on paper, but easier on the mind. Once you have the confidence in yourself, and the team at Covalence behind your back, it is hard to not succeed. The job hunting process was made much easier by the final project at Covalence. Having a full stack application to show off made landing interviews easy work.
I really enjoyed my time at Covalence. The videos were very well done, and the labs did a good job of assessing my knowledge of the material. I can’t say enough good things about the instructors. They let me know (literally every day) they were available for any questions I had. They made sure I knew the fundamentals and were positive and encouraging when I was having difficulty with some concept. They were instrumental in helping me set expectations for implementing features in projects, completing projects, and all throughout the job search experience. I felt I was well prepared for searching for jobs, and was hired within a few months.
Becoming a developer was something I had wanted to do for quite some time, but was unsure of how to get there. Having already gotten a degree in accounting, I didn't feel like going back to college was the right choice for me at this time, both for financial reasons and the time investment required. Luckily, a friend recommended Covalence to me and it sounded like the right option. Overall, I would definitely recommend the program to someone who is looking for a way to transition into the software engineering world, especially if they already have a passion for it. I'm not sure I would have ever gotten to this point on my own and for that I am very grateful for Covalence.
Covalence was, in a word: Awesome. It was the most empowering feeling to look back on what I had a accomplished over the past 3 months. Coding is hard, it just is. It takes work, especially if you’re like me and had never read a line of code before. I was constantly at the edge of my abilities. But, now that I’ve been through it, I have a much stronger mental resolve. My long-term goal is to be an iOS engineer and, thanks to everyone at Covalence, I know that what I want isn’t out of reach.
Covalence has been an invaluable and well-rounded learning experience for me. I consider myself tech-savvy, but not a gadget geek by any means, and Covalence had a great mix of easy-to-follow video lectures and labs, while also challenging me to find my own answers as I progressed through the curriculum. It became evident that this was their intention: you can’t always have the answers provided to you, so you as the developer need to go out and find them sometimes. I felt like I wasn’t simply being taught to be a developer, I was learning on my own how to be a developer.
Covalence's Catalyst program is one of the best investments I've made in my education and career. That may be a bold statement, but I'll explain why in just a moment. As someone who spent over 6 years in the mechanical engineering industry followed by a season in entrepreneurship, Covalence made the most sense for me after a post-pandemic career change.
If you do not have software experience and you want to learn how to code, this is the program for you! If you have experience and want to continue your learning, this program is for you. The full time program is a lot of work...you have to put in the time and the effort to learn. The content and course work builds upon itself seamlessly, and the instructors are there for you every step of the way.
Joining Covalence to learn how to code is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was in retail/food service for 10+ years before deciding to learn how to code, and Covalence was exactly what I needed. The way they have their courses set up build perfectly to teach you what you need to know. The people they have teaching and meeting up with you are super helpful and knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend Covalence to anyone interested in coding!
Covalence was one of the best choices I've made for my career. They provided training and insight into cutting edge tools for web-based software development. The instruction was excellent, and I could tell they really care about their students. They also have a vibrant online community on Discord, where instructors, fellow students, and alumni can help each other solve problems and learn, or even just chat. I was very impressed, and their Catalyst course was critical in helping me land my first job in web development. I can't recommend Covalence highly enough.

Common questions
You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers, even if they aren’t listed here. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just reach out. We’re happy to help.
Yes. When you cancel your subscription, your Membership and all of its associated benefits will remain active until the end of your billing cycle.
Your progression through our Course Content as a Community Member is up to you; it's completely self-paced, unlike our Immersive Catalyst Program. As long as you're an active member, you'll have access to our courses and all of the updates we release, including new courses, webinars, and more.
Of course. The entire Covalence Team is available within our Discord community, and as a Community Member you will have access to exclusive enclaves (chat, voice, and stage channels) within our Discord server that are only accessible to active members. You will also be able to receive help from our active students and alumni within the Discord community that are eager to help pass along their learnings to those following in their footsteps.
Higgs is our AI teaching assistant that can always be found in the side panel of every course activity within Gravity. It's named after the Higgs boson – the elementary particle that gives others mass, which is what leads to the physical force we know and experience as Gravity. Similarly, our AI assistant, Higgs, helps keep you on a successful trajectory when learning with us in Gravity (our LMS) at Covalence.
You may ask Higgs specific questions about the material you're learning, share snippets of your work to spot check it for errors or mistakes, and use the built-in action prompts to summarize the current topic or even generate an on-demand quiz to test your current understanding and comprehension.
Higgs is available 24/7 and can generate instant responses that can help you keep moving forward on our curriculum. We do not encourage you to simply ask Higgs for answers to our lab assignments – that's not helping you accomplish anything; it's hindering your ability to master this material and deploy it in real-world situations. If that's your M.O., you need to waste your time and effort elsewhere because it won't help you here. These aren't the droids you're looking for.
We have implemented Higgs as an augmentation and additional facilitator of our proprietary course content so you can learn faster by reducing conceptual friction in key moments of your learning journey, and dive deeper than static content alone with guided prompts and topic expansion with Higgs' help.
However, Higgs is an AI, and with that in mind it should not be taken as infallible or all-knowing just yet. If you ever have any doubts, or if you're simply not receiving the help you need from Higgs, you can always rely on us through the other support channels we provide here at Covalence. Higgs is extremely helpful, and like any resource or tool, you should always be cognizant of its limitations; that doesn't mean it should not be used. It is our belief that we should equip you with all the tools and techniques you need to be successful as a technologist and developer, and we also believe that AI is going to drastically transform the way we work and implement technological solutions as knowledge-based workers. Understanding and utilizing AI will be paramount to your ability to distinguish yourself as a successful, contributing developer in the years to come, and there's no better way to do that than in the very beginning of your learning journey.
Currently, our lab reviews are highly personalized, instructor-recorded videos that are unique to each lab for every Catalyst student. We simply do not have the capacity at the moment to feasibly offer this service to Community Members for only $25/month, but we know this is a huge benefit for your work to be checked and verified, so we are actively working on a solution to this that will be released in the future. For now, you can always share your work with us and other Community Members through our Discord server to receive feedback, which we always encourage students to do.
Mentoring sessions are not included in the Membership subscription, but every Community Member may purchase individual 1-on-1 mentoring sessions with one of our dedicated instructors for $99.
Catalyst isn't going anywhere. It's still our best-in-class immersive training program with real, personalized help through video lab reviews, mentoring sessions, daily webinar office hours, and daily ongoing support from our dedicated instructors. You won't get any of that as built-in membership benefits. As a Community Member, you'll be able to access our courses and work through them at your own pace as long as your membership is active, but you'll be missing many of the core components of Catalyst that are designed for students eager to break into the industry as software developers as fast as possible.
The difference between subscribing to the membership and purchasing a standalone course is pretty straight-forward: if you purchase a standalone course, you'll have access forever, including any updates or changes we make to that specific course in the future. If you're accessing our course catalog through the membership subscription, you will lose access to the courses catalog (and any other membership benefits) when your subscription ends.
Please reach out to a Covalence team member before subscribing – we've got a special deal just for you!
